Another method for separating dirt from oil is through centrifuging. The oil is first passed through a centrifugal filter, which removes larger contaminants. The purified oil is then passed through a vacuum filter, which removes smaller contaminants. The contaminants are collected in a container, and the purified oil is returned to the transformer.
